Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary developer Saber Interactive has a new shooter on the way. God Mode is a humorous co-op adventure based on Greek mythology.
The player characters are descendants of a God that was turned into a mere mortal by Hades. Up to four players invade the Maze of Hades as a team, killing anything in their path. Comic relief will be provided by a wacky narrator.
Although God Mode is a downloadable title - and the action is described as arcade-like - there appears to be a lot of depth as well. There will be some degree of destructible environments. Players will be able to customize their character with an array of weird equipment. They can also upgrade their characters' weapons.
God Mode is being developed by Old School Games, a new division of Saber that specializes on downloadable games. They plan to release God on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and PC in early 2013.
