Since releasing the announcement trailer for Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games has been very quiet about the sandbox game. Don't expect that to change anytime soon.
"First of all, we’d like to again thank you and everyone out there for the amazing response to the debut Grand Theft Auto V trailer," said Rockstar in a community Q&A. "We know that there are a ton of questions you all have about the game, including release date and lots else. Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses - expect that we'll be talking much more about GTAV starting at some point in a few months’ time."
"Please hang tight until then and thank you all for your patience and support!"
GTA V is set in and around the city of Los Santos, the fictional equivalent of Los Angeles. It was previously seen in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Rockstar says elsewhere in the Q&A that GTA V "will be the largest and most ambitious open world game we’ve ever created."
Why isn't Rockstar talking about the game, then? The most likely explanation is that they're pouring all of their energy into promoting Max Payne 3. MP3, Rockstar's first work in the shooter series, will be arriving in mid-May. As soon as that game's in stores, I imagine more GTA V details will be revealed.
It's possible Rockstar will show off the game at this year's E3 in early June. They typically don't attend the convention but perhaps this year the timing will be too good to pass up.
