Grand Theft Auto 5 Gets An Official Spring 2013 Release Date
Rockstar Games has finally made it official: Grand Theft Auto V will be arriving on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the spring of 2013. An exact release date hasn't been set yet, but at this point it looks like we'll all be cruising around Los Santos, smashing dudes in the knees with a baseball bat in just a matter of months.
A lot of speculation has been circling Rockstar's latest game's release date, especially since it was a no-show at many of this year's gaming conventions. Some European media teasing a spring 2013 release date started making its way around the internet recently and, this morning, Rockstar has finally made its release window official.
Rockstar calls GTAV the “largest and most ambitious title in the series to date.” As stated above, the game takes place in Los Santos and the surrounding areas, a clear nod to the slightly less fictional city of Los Angeles.
“Grand Theft Auto V builds on everything we've learned about open world game design,” said Rockstar Founder Sam Houser. “We can't wait to share it with fans.”
For those who are now officially chomping at the bit to get your hands on this game, pre-orders go live starting Nov. 5. After that, all you have to do is decide which activity (outside of crime, of course) you want to dive into first. You could go deep sea diving or parachuting. You could drive a car or fly a jet. You could even play tennis or cruise around on a dirt bike. Then again, you could always just stick to that whole “life of crime” thing. That can be fun, too.
For all the latest on Grand Theft Auto V leading up to its launch, be sure to keep your gaze fixed on the official website.
