Guild Wars 2 Prepares For The End With New Story Trailer
In the world of Guild Wars 2, events were set into motion that will finally come to fruition in 2014, seeing the evil Scarlet Briar grow in power as she battles to change the fate of Tyria. As promised by the recently released “The Story so Far” recap trailer, “The end begins” for Guild Wars 2 in 2014.
It’s not uncommon for a video game’s expansion packs to tie together, but what NCSOFT and ArenaNet have been doing with Guild Wars 2 over the past 12 months is setting the stage for what will be the biggest event in this MMO’s history.
For those unfamiliar with Guild Wars 2, it’s the latest online fantasy offering from ArenaNet, allowing players to build their own characters, explore a massive world and take on loads of missions alone or in a group. All of the loot, crafting and exploring you would expect out of a modern MMO are present and accounted for, complete with some silky-smooth graphics and high production values for an online game.
While that’s all par for the course, what sets Guild Wars 2
After 12 months of laying the foundation, director Colin Johanson said that the team is ready to cap off the current story arc with an epic series of new content releases.
“As we announced back in December, we’re down to just four releases to go in the current storyline of living world,” writes Johanson, reffering to the game’s unique and ever-evolving story. “The first of those four releases is nearly upon us, and we wanted to take a moment and look back at the key moments that have brought us up to this point as a refresher before we dive head-first into countdown to the big finale.”
Over the past year, Scarlet Briar has been hard at work in the shadows of previous content updates, creating alliances, developing new technology and growing stronger than ever as she prepares for her final assault on the world of Tyria.
