Techland has issued the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming co-op game Hellraid. Hellraid is a first-person hack-and-slash game set in the early medieval era.
In Hellraid, players must fight back an invasion by Hell's armies. Players can fight these hordes alone or with up to three friends online. The co-op is said to have a competitive component, as these mortal warriors battle for various rewards.
The combat resembles Skyrim, if only because the game uses a first-person camera and you can use melee strikes, spells and ranged weapons. I hope it can avoid the repetitiveness of Skyrim's combat. Mashing the attack button, binge-drinking potions and circle-strafing isn't my idea of a good time.
Hellraid, formerly known as Project Hell, is in development for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Techland plans to release it later this year.
