IO Interactive announced that they're creating remakes of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money. These high-def remakes will be bundled together in a single package called the Hitman HD Trilogy.
In the Hitman series, players take on the role of super-assassin Agent 47. Agent 47 can use disguises, stealth, and deadly weaponry to complete his contracts. It's up to the player to determine how to approach each mission.
Because the Hitman HD Trilogy doesn't have the first game in the series (Hitman: Codename 47), you're not getting the complete story. However, Hitman 2 should bring you up to speed on that game's events pretty quickly. Over the trilogy's 40 missions, you'll follow Agent 47 as he returns from retirement and quickly re-establishes himself as the world's greatest assassin.
The HD Trilogy will debut in North America on January 29th. It'll hit Europe and other PAL territories on February 1st. The price wasn't mentioned in the press release.
The latest entry in the series, Hitman: Absolution, arrives on consoles and PC last month. You can read more about it in our review. Square Enix Montreal is currently developing the sixth game in the series.
