Hunter Blade Enters OBT In Asia, Can We Please Get A North American Release?
According to MMOSite, Joychina recently announced that their newest MMO, Hunter Blade, has officially entered open beta testing. This basically means that the game is fully playable and completely open to the public…just not anywhere outside of South-East Asia.
So what makes Hunter Blade any good and why should us North Americans be bothered with yet another MMO? Well, the simple answer is that this is like a high-end version of Monster Hunter, except you can venture throughout an open world teaming with or facing off against thousands of other players.
The gameplay is remarkably reminiscent to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, with players being able to customize and outfit their very own character with a huge array of melee and projectile based weaponry, as well as venture through a massive world teeming with monsters to hunt down and destroy with friends. Boss instances, crafting, weapon refining and a clan system round out the gameplay features.
While many of the features seem terribly standard-fare, it’s the way the game plays out that makes it a stand-out MMO that we just don’t get to see very often over here Stateside. For some odd reason it seems like publishers think Westerners only like World of Warcraft clones and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare FPS ripoffs.
Hopefully Gamigo or Aeria Games picks up the license to publish Hunter Blade outside of Asia. I’d definitely give the game a go. You can check out the launch trailer for the game below. If you have some proficiency with reading Chinese you can try navigating the Official Website.
