I Am Alive Is Still Alive, New Rating And Release Window Set
Ubisoft’s super-secretive I Am Alive has been under the radar for a while, with the media being left in the dark about frequent progress or updates regarding the project. News broke today that I Am Alive is still alive and kicking and has been rated by the Australian Government Classification Database, receiving an MA 15+ rating.
According to MCV, the game’s recent rating from the AGCD means that the game could potentially arrive sometime later this year or next year. Given that no promotional efforts from Ubisoft have been put underway for the obscure title, it would be financial suicide to release the game any time this year, especially during the holiday season without any sort of media build-up whatsoever.
The likely case is that we could be seeing I Am Alive sometime during the early part of 2012 (assuming it doesn’t get delayed again). Ubisoft had confirmed a short while ago that I Am Alive was not canned after hinting that the game would possibly feature some sort of multiplayer component. I guess this news bit further confirms that Ubisoft will get the game out eventually.
The game is basically a survival-adventure title, but not much else is known other than that it’s a first-person survival game. Maybe we’ll finally get some more info now that it’s been rated by the Australian Government…because, once the Government steps in then you’re dealing with the big dogs.
