Infamous: Second Son pre-order customers will have two options to choose from: the $59.99 Limited Edition as well as a $79.99 Collector's Edition. Each provides a voucher for a DLC pack called Cole's Legacy.
Cole's Legacy is set between the events of Infamous 2 and Infamous Second Son. This DLC will only be available through these two special editions. Other players will presumably be able to buy it separately some day but they won't be able to do so at launch.
"Cole MacGrath’s actions in New Marias set in motion a chain of events leading to the now forceful occupation of Seattle by the oppressive Department of Unified Protection," says Sony's Cristian Cardona on the PlayStation Blog. "Cole’s Legacy bridges this gap in time with a series of missions Delsin Rowe must complete that reveal unique insights into how the world of Infamous: Second Son came to be."
By completing the missions, you'll unlock Cole McGrath's black-and-yellow jacket for use in the game. I assume that means Cole dies at some point during this DLC. Or maybe he just bought a new jacket.
The Limited Edition also includes four exclusive vests for Delsin Rowe. Each is designed by a different artist to ensure that your wardrobe is as diverse as possible. The game comes packaged with a special foil cover as well. The Limited Edition won't be available after launch, though, so you'll have to be an early adopter to get these perks.
The Second Son Collector's Edition comes with everything in the LE. Sucker Punch Productions is also throwing in another in-game vest, pins, decals, a Department of Unified Protection patch and a replica of Delsin's beanie.
The two editions announced today are boxed copies of the game. Cardona says that they're still working out the details for digital pre-orders through PSN. Expect an announcement on that front soon, though.
