Infinite Crisis Joins MLG Family, Showing Off At E3
It looks like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is going full steam ahead with its upcoming Massive Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, Infinite Crisis. Today, the publisher announced that it will be partnering with Major League Gaming to bring the new title to the eSport audience, beginning with a big showing at this year’s E3.
Developed by Turbine,
[[ ahref http games www.cinemablend.com ]] Infinite Crisis pits two teams of super heroes against each other in a massive battle demanding teamwork, strategy and some good old fashioned heat vision. The selectable heroes come from the DC Multiverse, meaning several of the characters will be available in various incarnations. Batman, for instance, can be played as vanilla Bats, Nightmare Bats and Gaslight Bats (see picture above). Players select a team of heroes and villains, then duke it out on large, asymmetrical maps just waiting to get pulverized.
Turbine and MLG have now partnered up to introduce the game, currently in beta, to the wide world of eSports, intent on developing competitive settings, showcasing the game at upcoming events, featuring the game on MLG: Play and eventually including Infinite Crisis in MLG Pro Circuit competitions, according to a statement from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
“Partnering with MLG is an important step in introducing Infinite Crisis to the competitive gaming community,” said Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel.
MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni agreed, calling Infinite Crisis a “perfect addition to the MLG network.”
To help kick off this new partnership, all entities involved will host a live competition between top teams Complexity and Curse Academy during the upcoming E3 event. The competition will be hosted out of the WB Games booth and streamed online at both the MLG and Infinite Crisis websites on Tuesday, June 11, at 12 p.m. PT.
