Jacob Jones And The Bigfoot Mystery Bringing Episodic Adventure To Vita
Sony's push to bring unique, unexpected experiences to the PlayStation Vita continues with upcoming episodic puzzle game, Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery.
Coming from the folks at Lucid Games, Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery was revealed today through a painfully short teaser trailer posted on the PlayStation Blog. A few additional screenshots help give us a better idea of what to expect, which basically equates to adorable covered in precious. The aesthetics remind me of Doublefine's Costume Quest, which is absolutely a good thing. The gameplay is straight up adventure game, though, with lots of puzzles for players to get through.
“Developed using the powerful Unreal Engine 3, it has a charming visual style and a artistically unique world which is inhabited by vinyl toy characters,” said Lucid founder Nick Davies. “Coupled with this we have all the technical bells and whistles you would expect to find on a cutting edge PlayStation Vita title.”
Davies goes on to say that his team partnered with some of the “world's best puzzle creators,” as well as Bafta-nominated writer George Poles.
No word yet on how many episodes there will be total, or how much each episode will cost. Even the release date is still up in the air. But Davies promises more information pertaining to the characters, world and puzzles in the coming weeks. So, yeah, keep your eye out for more info on Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery for the PS Vita. This could be a good one.
