Jim Ward Says Goodbye To LucasArts

Jim Ward, president of LucasArts, has decided to leave the company for “personal reasons.” Ward has been with LucasArts since joining the marketing division in 1997. He took over as president in 2004 when he oversaw the development and release of games like Knights of the Old Republic II and Star Wars: Galaxies.

A LucasArts rep confirmed with Next-Gen that the rumor of Ward’s leaving was true. Stating that, ”LucasArts has initiated a search for a new President and in this transition, Howard Roffman, president of Lucas Licensing, will be stepping in.” Ward will be leaving the company in the next few weeks.

If you’ve ever aspired to head up a gaming company, or to work on Star Wars IP’s, this is your chance. LucasArts is on the lookout for qualified individuals, and isn’t that exactly what you are? Go get ‘em, tiger.
