Avalanche Studios' sequel to the 2006 game Just Cause won't be home by Christmas. The game was supposed to be due by the end of the year but now it's been pushed back into 2009.
Publisher Eidos revealed the Just Cause delay to Eurogamer but didn't provide a reason. A delay isn't all that surprising given this is one of those sprawling sandbox action games. Providing a lot of player control and a lot of features usually results in a game being buggy as shit.
With Just Cause 2, Avalanche is promising new weapons, more vehicles, enhanced A.I., and a new side quests system (among other changes). Let's hope the additional time they're getting to work on the game will result in them being able to deliver on all their promises. Eidos didn't specify when in 2009 the game will be released but the game is still being developed simultaneously for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
