The new gaming convention Call of Duty XP will end with a performance by Kanye West. The convention's closing concert will mark Kanye's first public performance since the release of his album "Watch the Throne."
Activision says that West will take the stage on Saturday, September 3rd at 8 PM. As someone who's seen West in concert, I would say that that time is subject to change. Kanye can be kind of a dick like that.
"We're pulling out all the stops," said Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO. "We promised our attendees and fans around the world a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the first Call of Duty XP, so we're thrilled to have Kanye on board.Everything about XP will be as epic as the games themselves. Whether you're competing for one of the open slots in the $1 million tournament, playing Modern Warfare 3 for the first time, dodging paintballs in a spectacular life-size recreation of Modern Warfare 2's Scrapyard level or just mingling with developers and fellow gamers, Call of Duty XP is a celebration of one of the greatest games in the world. So what better way to top it off with one of the greatest artists in the world?"
COD XP offers attendees hands-on time with Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer. It's the first time the public will get a chance to play the game. All attendees will also get a voucher for a free copy of the Hardened Edition of MW3. The convention's activities also include a preview of Call of Duty Elite's original programming and several "real life" COD challenges.
Call of Duty XP will take place September 2nd and 3rd in Los Angeles. Activision will be donating 100% of the ticket sales from the evnet to The Call of Duty Endowment. The COD Endowment is a non-profit organization that helps returning soldiers find work.
