Keiji Inafune, the long-time Capcom producer best known for his work on Mega Man, has resigned. He announced on his blog that he will be leaving the company at the end of the month.
"A manager's work means evaluating your subordinates and speaking your dreams. Anyone who can do both of those can be a manager. I thought that when I came here, and I still think that now," wrote Infaune (via Develop). It seems he no longer thought he could do those two things anymore.
Inafune has been with Capcom for 23 years. He served as a producer or designer on dozens of Mega Man titles. He was also executive producer for the Lost Planet and Dead Rising games.
In his farewell post, Inafune did not mention his post-Capcom plans. He doesn't intend to leave the industry, though. I'd imagine he's fielding a few phone calls now from interested developers.
