Guerrilla Games revealed tonight that Killzone Mercenary will arrive on the PS Vita this September. Accompanying the release date is a new trailer and screenshots.
Mercenary starts after the first Killzone. Players take on the role of Arran Danner, a former UCA soldier who now works as a mercenary. He accepts contracts from both the ISA and Helghast, playing the two sides of their devastating war. However, he soon finds himself being hunted by both sides after a mission to evacuate the Vektan ambassador and his family.
The campaign features nine missions, each about an hour long. Each mission you complete unlocks replay challenges with special objectives. This should encourage you to revisit each mission.
Mercenary also features a full multiplayer experience. It ships with six maps and three game modes, including Warzone. The game supports matches for up to eight players. Your actions in multiplayer and single-player earn you money that can be spent on new weapons and other gear on both sides of the game.
Killzone Mercenary will launch on September 17th in North America, and in Europe the following day.
