Sparkster, the opossum knight hero of Rocket Knight Adventures, is making a comeback. An all-new game, Rocket Knight, is under development for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Knight (outed in a 1UP preview) takes place 15 years after the events of the last game in the series, Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2. Not coincidentally, this is the same amount of time that has passed since RKA2 was released. In the time since Sparkster's last adventure, the world's grown from 2D sprites to 2.5D models. The game will be playable in two difficulties: Arcade mode offers a more old school, hardcore challenge while Free Play mode lets you save your progress at any time.
Unlike its 16-bit forefathers, Knight won't be developed by Konami. Instead, Silent Hill: Origins outfit Climax Studios is putting it together. Look for it on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, and Steam in 2010.
