The Last Of Us DLC Gets Sneak Peek Trailer, Team Interview
Valentine's Day has always been known as a particularly emotional holiday but, with The Last of Us's first story-driven DLC, Left Behind, arriving on that particular day this year, gamers might be experiencing a few emotions that don't fit the lovey-dovey holiday. To help prepare everyone for what's sure to be yet another emotional roller coaster, a new team interview and a brief look at some of the early moments in the DLC are now available for your viewing pleasure.
You know what I was thinking? Gosh, I'd sure love to have my guts ripped out and my heart stomped on come Valentine's Day. And no, I wasn't talking about what would happen if I were to come into contact with the fungal zombie creatures made famous by Naughty Dog's latest action game, The Last of Us. For anyone who has played the game proper, you know that the developers are capable of weaving a yard that, at regular intervals, can absolutely wreck your emotional state. Given that track record and the brief glimpses we've had at the Left Behind content so far, I expect my time spent with Ellie and her childhood friend Riley to be devastating as well.
The above glimpse into the Left Behind story and the developer interview included below comes to us courtesy of the PlayStation Blog. According to Social Media Manager Sid Shuman, Ashley Johnson is back to reprise her role of Ellie while newcomer Yaani King takes on the role of Riley. You get to see the two interacting IRL in the interview section and it's obvious from the get-go that their chemistry was perfect for playing two friends forced to survive in a cruel, cruel world.
“Set before Joel and Ellie meet in The Last of Us, Left Behind will focus strongly on Ellie and Riley, adding intriguing new wrinkles to Ellie's future relationship with Joel, as well as immersive details about the game's decaying world,” Shuman said.
Players will also have the opportunity to explore a crumbling mall. They'll also use a new combat technique that turns the infected into their greatest weapon.
Look for the DLC to arrive on February 14th on the PlayStation 3.
