Today Dark Horse Books and Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia to stores. Historia is a comprehensive guide to the long-running action-adventure game series.
The book provides you with every bit of information you could want to know about Zelda. It includes a full history of the land of Hyrule, as well as an official timeline of the games. Historia is also loaded with concept art from the series, some of which has never been released before. Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary creator of Zelda, Mario and Donkey Kong, penned the introduction.
The 280-page hardcover time is priced at $34.99. Dark Horse also created a $70 Limited Edition with a faux leather cover and gilded pages. Only 4,000 copies of the LE were created, though, so it's likely that it's sold out by now.
Thus far, Hyrule Historia has been racking up strong sales. As Nintendo Life notes, the book spent 92 days on Amazon's Top 100 best-sellers list in North America. Today it's at the top of Amazon's charts, even besting juggernauts like 50 Shades of Grey and Gone Girl.
Zelda fans have plenty to look forward to this year besides this sourcebook. Nintendo announced last week that they're creating an HD version of Wind Waker for Wii U. There's always the possibility that the company will start talking about the new Wii U Zelda game soon as well.
