Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen has been named cover athlete for MLB 13 The Show. The two-time All-Star beat out other players for the honor through fan voting.
2012 was a strong season for McCutchen. He finished second in batting average in the National League and first in hits. He was ultimately awarded the Silver Slugger award for the year. He was also praised for his defense and won a Gold Glove.
McCutchen received 108,148 votes in total. This gave him a comfortable lead over the second-place athlete, the Yankees' C.C. Sabathia, who received a little over 89,000 votes. Detroit Tiger infielder Miguel Cabrera finished in third with 76,740 votes.
MLB 13 The Show will hit the PS3 and PS Vita on March 5th.
