Bye bye, office productivity. Social game developer Zynga released a sequel to their Facebook RPG Mafia Wars today. Cue the Mafia Wars 2 game request spam from your friends.
"Our goal with Mafia Wars 2 was to build on the Mafia Wars franchise in a way that feels familiar to our loyal players, yet provides a brand new world of criminal mischief to explore,” said Erik Bethke, Mafia Wars 2 general manager. “The game makes fighting a visceral, social experience and wraps it in a story and art style that we think our players will love. Believe us when we say that Mafia Wars 2 is unlike anything Zynga has released before. We can’t wait to let our players in on the social mayhem.”
Players take on the role of an ex-con building their own crime empire. You build up your turf with various buildings and hire workers to manage the properties. You can also hire crews,outfit them with hundreds of types of weapons and armor, and send them on missions. There are seven different worlds to build your empire across, along with three fight arenas for you to face off against other pplayers.
The game is available in 16 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Japanese and Thai. You can start playing by heading here.
