EA revealed at an investor call yesterday that Medal of Honor has sold two million copies worldwide. According to CEO John Riccitiello, that's enough to start talking about a sequel.
"The game has exceeded our plan and expectations – sell-through and sell-in," said Riccitiello. "It is an absolutely clear success on a business front. Consumer feedback has been strong, suggesting we've got a franchise now that we can successfully sequel in the future. I think it's the first step for this franchise back into the marketplace."
MoH executive producer Greg Goodrich said in September that the game would need to sell three million in order for a sequel to be greenlit. Considering the game's hit two million after only about three weeks on the market, it seems it'll hit its goal by the end of the holiday season (if not sooner).
