Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy Patch Coming Early August
War has changed, and so will Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Konami announced earlier this year that director Hideo Kojima's latest masterpiece would finally be receiving Trophy support, about four years after the game initially released. Well, now we (sort of) know when that's actually going to happen.
Konami has announced through the PlayStation Blog that the Metal Gear Solid 4 trophy patch is finally inbound. While all new disc printings of MGS4 will come with trophies already included, those who already own the game will gain access to the shiny bits of goodness through an upcoming patch.
Said patch is due out this coming Monday, Aug. 6, in Japan and “early August” here in the states. I assume that means before Aug. 15, because you'll officially be in “mid-August” by that time. If they wait too much longer, we could be looking at “late August.” Much longer than that, and we could be talking “September.” Ah, aren't vague announcements grand?
While helping Solid Snake take on his possibly last mission should be reward enough itself, players these days like to get a little somethin'-somethin' extra for all of that effort. But don't think I'm judging. I will absolutely be playing MGS4 again to earn those fake rewards. I'm a sucker for that “bling” noise.
