Out in Las Vegas, MineCraft fans from across the world are currently celebrating MineCon. During the convention, the Xbox 360 version of the game is playable for the first time.
MineCraft is an open-world building game. Players are free to explore their randomly generated world, gather resources, and build any structures they want. They have to be careful at night or when they head into mines, though, because monsters often lurk in the dark.
The slow-paced, objective-less gameplay of MineCraft might seem like a strange fit for the console that Halo built. Mojang realizes this and released a trailer poking fun at the notion of MineCraft being a living room game. You can see it below along with screenshots of the 360 version.
MineCraft is due on Xbox Live Arcade sometime in 2012.
