The indie sensation MineCraft has hit another sales milestone. Creator Markus Persson announced today that the game has sold 2.5 million copies.
"2.5 million sales! That's as much as Diablo 1 and FarCry, according to Wikipedia," tweeted Persson.
MineCraft is a bit unusual in that the game has no goal or end. It allows you to simply build whatever structures you can imagine. You'll travel through the world to obtain building materials while avoiding environmental hazards or monsters.
The game should rack up even more sales when it debuts on the Xbox 360. The Kinect-enabled 360 version is set to arrive this winter.
