Mortal Kombat X Gameplay Trailer Introduces Jax And Jacqueline
The Briggs family gets the spotlight in the newest trailer for NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat X. The trailer highlights the power of both Jax and Jacqueline Briggs. Jax is a long-time fan-favorite and Jacqueline is new to the series.
All Games Beta Videos posted up the latest trailer for Mortal Kombat X that you can check out below.
Both characters were previously revealed long before this trailer came about. Jax was first spotted in a leaked screenshot, and Jacqueline was featured in the story trailer centering around Cassie Cage and the rest of the new blood.
If you were geared up to see the 25 minute story video for Mortal Kombat X, you may have noticed that Jax was one of the zombified souls under the control of Quan Chi; a resurrected warrior brought back to fight on the side of evil. Obviously, Jax doesn't stay on the bad side for too long, and something brings him back around, we just don't know what.
Also, it appears as if his evil Outworld arms are replaced once again with the more traditional cybernetic implants. Then again, if Jax comes back from the dead and manages to escape the horrors of Quan Chi's zombie army, does that mean the other zombie warriors are also playable, such as Sindel and Stryker?
The other two are rumored to make the cut, but we can't really know for sure. They could end up joining the roster later into the lifespan of the game's release as DLC characters. Although, I imagine that may not go over too well with longtime Mortal Kombat fans.
Anyway, Jacqueline also gets the spotlight in the video and she appears to have a style very similar to the ground-and-pound methods of fighting like her father. She has a lot of hard-hitting punches and body blows while also wielding what looks like wrist-guns. We don't really get to see the full effect of the guns but I'm sure they play a pretty heavy part in her fighting style.

The x-ray maneuvers for both characters look brutal and Jax's finishing move appears to be absolutely vicious.
It's kind of funny this time around that a lot of the new characters being added to the roster are actually the offspring from the characters who are recognized legends on the main roster. With Jax's daughter joining the fray along with Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade's daughter and Kung Lao and Kenshi's kids also getting in on the action, it's like one big, bloody family reunion.
Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to be one of the bigger games releasing this spring, and it's also one of two massive games coming out this quarter by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. They also have Batman: Arkham Knight releasing later on in the summer for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They're definitely going to clean up during the middle of the year where most other publishers are resting on their laurels, waiting for the big holiday season rush.
You can get your hands on Mortal Kombat X starting April 14th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and the game is scheduled to arrive this summer for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
