Ubisoft and CBS Consumer Products are teaming up to produce a video game based on the criminal investigation TV series NCIS. The NCIS game, apparently unnamed at the moment, will be released worldwide this fall on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii.
NCIS is the top-rated drama series in the US. It follows a fictional group of agents at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The NCIS is the law enforcmeent and counter-intel part of the Department of Navy. It's their job to investigate all major crimes within the Department. For example, if a sailor is murdered, it's their job to figure whodunit.
The game tasks players with solving four all-new cases. The cases, created with help from the writers of the TV show, take players to an Atlantic City casino and a luxury hotel in Dubai, among other places. As you solve each case, you'll discover all four are connected in some way.
Players will handle every step of the investigation. They'll investigate the crime scene, conduct forensic analysis, perform autopsies on victims, interrogate suspects, and even apprehend criminals. Each aspect of the case is handled by a different minigame.
Also worth noting that you'll get to perform these deeds as actual characters of the show. You'll step into the shoes of special agent Gibbs, Ducky Mallard, and various other people I've never heard of. You'll also get plenty of opportunities to interact with the characters, hopefully making you feel like a part of the team in the process.
Ubisoft expects the NCIS game to be released this fall.
