Ni No Kuni Developer Level-5 Establishes Three Mysterious Trademarks
Level-5, currently best known for their recent RPG of awesomeness known as Ni No Kuni, always seem to keep themselves pretty busy. They recently registered three new trademarks, for instance, meaning we could be seeing quite a few new games coming from the developer in the next few years. The best part is that these trademarks are so bizarre, there's no telling what kind of games we could actually be in for.
The sleuths over at first broke the news yesterday, saying that the legendary developers at Level-5 appear to be working on at least three new projects.
Along with the tag-team effort with Studio Ghibli that evolved into the wonderful Ni No Kuni, Level-5 is also well known for their work on the Professor Layton series, as well as White Knight Chronicles, the less well known but definitely fantastic Rogue Galaxy, and even the Dark Cloud series.
Their latest trademarks, though, have us scratching our heads. The first, and decidedly least cryptic, is Wonderflick. Next up is Rare Drop Adventurer Note. Finally, there's the extremely enigmatic Earth Devastating B-Rank Girlfriend.
Lots of speculation is already buzzing about these games, so I'm going to go ahead and throw my own prediction into the ring. Wonderflick, I'm guessing, will be a 3DS mini-game collection focusing on touchscreen controls. Rare Drop Adventurer Note, on the other hand, will be a light-hearted RPG taking place in a Tokyo high school and featuring middle school students who must collect and pass notes in order to unleash magical powers. Finally, there's Earth Devastating B-rank Girlfriend, which is obviously another RPG, this time featuring a socially awkward young man and his harem of lady friends who also pilot giant mechs and protect the city from invading forces.
