Orcs Must Die! 2 Gets An Endless Mode
Orcs must die. We all know this to be true. They are vile, villainous creatures who will stop at nothing to invade our castles, eat our goats and poop wherever they dang-well please. There are a lot more orcs than we realized, though, as developer Robot Entertainment has announced an Endless Game Mode for their upcoming PC action/strategy game, Orcs Must Die! 2.
While the original Orcs Must Die! introduced players to the War Mage and his quest to close the rift and defeat the nefarious Order and their army of orcs, Orcs Must Die! 2 picks up where the original campaign left off, introducing the Sorceress as a co-op partner to set traps, cast spells and go toe to toe with the invading orc forces in single and multiplayer combat.
Set to release via Steam on July 30, Orcs Must Die! 2 boasts more than 50 traps, weapons and guardians to utilize, 225 persistent upgrades, and enough invading monsters to keep a slayer busy for days on end.
That carnage will be better than ever, though, as Robot Entertainment has pulled back the curtain on its Endless Mode. As the name implies, players will battle a never-ending swarm of orcs across five campaign maps and five additional maps unique to Endless Mode, palyable in single player or co-op.
You’ll start each Endless session with a set number of coins for purchasing and upgrading your traps and abilities. The better you do, the more money you’ll earn to strengthen your defenses as each wave gets harder and harder to defeat. Every fifth wave will see a golden-armored ogre named Mr. Moneybags entering the fray and, if you’re able to kill him before he runs away, you’ll net yourself an additional monetary bonus. From there, you’ll play until you die. See, because it’s an Endless mode. You can’t win, and that’s just something you’re going to have to come to terms with.
If that isn’t enough info for ya, you can find out more by visiting the Orcs Must Die! 2 official website.
