Overwatch Might Already Be Making Changes To Heroes, Get The Details
If you were a fan of only certain heroes in Overwatch, you should be on your guard. It looks like Blizzard might be making some changes to heroes already.
The news comes from PC Gamer who reports that McCree, one of the heroes that is part of the Offense class, is reportedly going to be “nerfed”.
The response comes after user Kayin posted a complaint on Battle.net about McCree and asking Blizzard to “nerf” the character. Kayin says,
The post goes on to describe all of the reasons, in a very organized fashion, that McCree should be nerfed by Blizzard. Kayin points out that the amount of damage McCree’s character does is so unbalanced, saying,
So what Kayin is trying to say is even though the Assault class is technically filled with heroes who are easier to use, McCree is just a spam-fest waiting to happen. Once someone realizes just how much damage McCree can do and the advantage he has over many other heroes in Overwatch, they’ll learn quickly learn how to be a dick about it. But honestly, when doesn't that happen in games?
Principal Designer Geoff Goodman responded to Kayin, saying,
In my opinion, I don’t think Blizzard should nerf McCree just because one fan got whiny about getting his butt kicked so much in Overwatch. Granted McCree might be a little over-advantageous, every online multiplayer game has those characters. I mean, have you played Zangief in Street Fighter? It’s the same thing and Capcom didn’t nerf him. He’s my favorite character to spam. Just like Goodman mentioned, every character will have strengths and weaknesses, but it seems like Kayin’s complaint might actually have Goodman thinking hard about McCree and his abilities.
