PS4 Games Will Cost Between $0.99 And $60
Sony Computer Entertainment of America CEO Jack Tretton, acknowledged the pricing for the software of the PlayStation 4, and it's no where near as bad as you might have been expecting...in fact, it's a heck of a lot better than most gamers have been expecting. The price of games will not increase and the ceiling is capped at $60, where-as smaller Minis titles will be available for as low as $0.99.
Coin Arcade spotted the news that was sourced from Neogaf. Tretton talked about the PlayStation 4 following Sony's event this past Wednesday, and he laid out the details of the software pricing.
In accordance with Sony's new varied demographic approach to software availability, the company wants to hit the casual market, the social market and the core market. They also want suitable pricing available to every market in between.
This is more good news following on the heels of Sony's worldwide president Shuhei Yoshida confirming that the PlayStation 4 will support used games. This is another great revelation giving Sony fans a real reason to cheer for the success of the next evolution in the PlayStation family.
With Naughty Dog confirming that they won't necessarily have to spend more to make better looking games for PS4, this means that we could see much more budget-conscious development cycles during this upcoming generation of gaming...for the PS4, at least.
