Sony hoped to have at least some of PSN back online by this time last week. However, in a status update to players, they stated they're still days away from a re-launch.
"I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored," said Sony spokesperson Patrick Seybold. "At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process."
PSN was taken offline on April 20th after a cyber-attack. Sony stated that hackers gained access to personal information of the service's millions of users. They were unsure whether the credit card information (stored with PlayStation Store) was compromised, though. Just to be on the safe side, though, they've decided to provide all PSN users with free identity theft protection for a year.
Sony is aiming to restore the entire PSN service by the end of May. The partial re-launch they're shooting for right now includes online play, PlayStation Home, and a few other feature.
