PSN Spring Fever Promotion Launches Four Indie Games
Spring is in the air, which means it is once again time for the PlayStation Network Spring Fever promotion. Along with the release of four brand new titles for the PS3’s digital marketplace, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to add these new games to their collection at a day-one discounted price.
Spring Feber 2013 kicks off today with Guacamelee, the metroidvania action platforming game that draws heavy inspiration from Mexican culture. Coming from Drinkbox Studio, today’s launch of Guacamelee illustrates this year’s Spring Fever focus on indie developers.
“We’re championing independent developers this year, with a new indie title coming each week,” said Pierre Gravereau, Senior Manager of Digital Distribution. “You may have noticed during GDC that we are focusing on bringing the best independent games to PSN, and we’re happy to reinforce our dedication to indie developers with this year’s Spring Fever.”
Gravereau went on to explain that each game in this collection is also a Cross-buy title, meaning you can buy it for the PS3 or Vita and get a copy for the other console free of charge. Each game will also boast a week one discount for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
As I said, Guacamelee kicks off the Spring Fever 2013 promotion today at $15.99, $11.99 for Plusers. Dragon Fantasy Book I will launch on April 16 for $9.99, or $7.99 with plus. Thomas Was Alone drops on April 23 for $9.99, or $7.99 with Plus. Finally, Zombie Tycoon 2 will be available on April 30 for $9.99 or 100 percent free with PlayStation Plus.
The Spring Fever sale will also offer discounts on various franchises, including Borderlands today, April 9, Grand Theft Auto on April 16, Resident Evil on April 23 and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale on April 30.
