Path Of Exile Open Beta Trailer Brings The Pain

Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile met its road to fame thanks to the disappointment of Diablo III. It's an unfortunate thing that one game's failure is another game's pathway to success, but that's sort of how it turned out for those within the core community who are ARPG fans. Well, Grinding Gear has released the official open beta trailer as their title gears up for launch.
Path of Exile is an ARPG, just like Diablo. It's based around hacking and slashing through hordes of NPC baddies and comes equipped with one of the most robust and massive skill trees ever featured in a video game. That's not hyperbole that is the hard honest truth.
The game is looking exceptionally good and you can get a glimpse at it in action with the trailer below.
While most ARPGs don't have very intriguing stories but Path of Exile seems to have something really going for it. I like the dark story premise and the sort of rebellious nature of fighting against something worse than death. Looks pretty intense.
The real meat and potatoes lies in the game's combat mechanics and character customization versatility. This definitely helps give Path of Exile a nice hint of its own independence away from the rest of the herd.
You can sign-up for the open-beta which is scheduled to go live on January 23rd next week. For more information visit the Official Website.
