Today Microsoft outlined what to expect from Xbox Live Block Party, a special Xbox Live Arcade promotion occuring next month. March will see the release of three new XBLA games as well as the Xbox Live Game Room.
- March 3: Toy Soldiers -1200 points
- March 10: Scrap Metal – 1200 points
- March 17: Perfect Dark – 800 points
- March 24: Game Room – Free to download. Individual games will cost 240 to 400 points
The Xbox Live Game Room, announced at CES, is a virtual world app. Players purchase classic arcade games and place their cabinets inside a custom-built game room, which you can navigate with your Xbox Live Avatar. Additional details can be found here.
If you purchase all three XBLA games listed above and download the Game Room, you'll get 400 free Microsoft Points. Xbox Live Gold Members will also receive a free month of Gold membership. If you're only an Xbox Live Silver, you'll be able to play the multiplayer features of all the Block Party games for no charge from 12 pm ET on Friday, March 26th until 12 pm ET on Monday, March 29th.
