Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5 Gets New Name, Fall Release Date
It’s been quite a while since we last heard anything about Capcom’s upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5, but now we have both a new name for the game and a fresh (semi) release date to boot. Get ready to object to everything when Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Dual Destinies arrives in North America and Europe later this fall for Nintendo 3DS.
When a publisher renames a game, it’s usually to simplify matters for a foreign market. Capcom operates a little differently than most publishers, however, which is why the numerically titled Ace Attorney 5 is now being given a subtitle of Dual Destinies. The latest we heard on the game was in the fall of 2012 when the new courtroom puzzle title was announced, given some screenshots and eventually a trailer.
Word on the street was that Ace Attorney 5 would be headed to the U.S. at some point and now Capcom has confirmed those rumors with an official announcement.
In Dual Destinies, the drama begins when a courtroom is destroyed and Phoenix Wright must defend the accused culprit. Further cases will follow, all presented in glorious 3D, allowing the player to “dig deeper” into the investigation and search for new clues.
Wright will once again be joined by Apollo Justice, as well as their new Asociate Attorney, Athena Cykes. She’s got a sweet “psychoanalyze” ability, allowing her to determine if a witnesses statement matches up with how they truly feel.
Get ready for some serious finger pointing when Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Dual Destinies arrives for the 3DS this fall.
