PlayStation 2-For-1 Sale Bundles Some Great Games
Sony doesn’t seem to be slowing down in the sales department, offering new discounts on pretty much a weekly basis throughout the summer. This week’s sale is a 2-for-1 affair, bundling two games together and dishing them out to players for the cost of, you guessed it, one.
If you’re looking to beef up your backlog or just find something to play until the fall onslaught begins, you’re basically covered on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita this week, as the 2-for-1 Sale is offering up some pretty sweet one-two punches of gaming goodness. The prices on these bundles will be good through July 21, so you might not want to wait around too long if something here catches your eye.
I’m a pretty big fan of the way these combinations were put together. Some of the bundles feature games that are two parts of a series, others include games that simply complement each other nicely, while some offer games from completely different ends of the spectrum.
First up is Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and How to Survive for the PlayStation 3. Usually going for $14.99 a pop, you can pick up both of those games for that price over the next five days. If you haven’t played Brothers yet, I highly recommend it. Unique controls blend with an emotional story you won’t soon forget.
For fans of retro-themed combat, you can get your hands on Bionic Commando Rearmed and its sequel, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, on the PlayStation 3 for $9.99.
Another pair of smaller PS3 titles includes Narco Terror and Sacred Citadel, which you can pick up for $9.99 this week. As for you sports fanatics, NFL Blitz and NBA JAM: On Fire Edition can be yours for just 15 bucks.
If you happen to have a PlayStation Portable (Yes, they still exist) or a Vita, then you might want to check out the Grand Theft Auto bundle. It includes Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories for $19.99.

Back over to the PS3, third-person shooter fans can dive into Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition and Red Dead Redemption for $29.99. If you prefer to enjoy your pew-pew-pew action from a first-person perspective, however, then you can grab the amazing Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for $14.99. I cannot stress enough how fantastic that particular combo is. If you haven’t played those games, do yourself a favor on the cheap.
Continuing right along on the PS3 train, Babel Rising and Outland are just 10 bucks together, while From Dust and I Am Alive will set you back $14.99 as a twin pack.
One of my favorite combos in this sale is available on the PSP/Vita, and it combines Corpse Party and Corpse Party: Book of Shadows for just $19.99. Get it now and save these bad boys for some fun Halloween gaming.
Finally, there’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD on the PS3 for $19.99. Need I say more?
