The rumored brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is looking more and more like a real game. Sony recently registered the domain PlaystationAllStarsBattleRoyale.com. Could an announcement be imminent?
PlayStation Lifestyle spotted the domain registration this weekend. They also confirmed that the registrant is Sony Computer Entertainment America. The domain was actually created back in January, so Sony's been thinking about the project for at least a few months now.
All-Stars Battle Royale, revealed through leaked screenshots in November, seems to be Sony's answer to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. It will presumably let players take on the role of iconic PlayStation characters, like Sweet Tooth and Nathan Drake, and engage in free-for-all brawls. The title itself first appeared in a survey from earlier in the month.
Sony has yet to confirm the game's existence. Thus, we don't know anything about it. Will it support Move? Is it a small, downloadable title or is it a full-fledged, $60 game? There are a lot of different directions that they could take the idea.
We may not have to wait long for Sony to announce this game, though. If you recall, the next episode of GameTrailers TV is promising to reveal a "huge new" exclusive for the PS3 along with the first in-game footage. This exclusive could turn out to be Battle Royale. Seems like as good of a guess as any.
