PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Invaded By Isaac Clarke And Zeus Today
From the heights of Mt. Olympus to the farthest reaches of space, today’s PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale DLC update features two familiar faces for PS fans, including God of War’s Zeus and Dead Space’s Issac Clarke. There’s also a new level out today, just in case you were on the lookout for some new stomping grounds.
We announced a couple of weeks ago that Clarke and Zeus would be entering the Battle Royale fray as the latest DLC character’s to follow Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett from Starhawk. Lead Game Designer Seth Killian dropped by the PlayStation Blog this morning to give a final word on the new content, saying that the new characters and level would be available following today’s regularly scheduled PlayStation Network update.
With Isaac hailing from the Dead Space universe and Zeus visiting from the God of War series, it’s only appropriate that today’s new level also be a mash-up of two distinctly different games. The “Graveyard” arena (seen above) blends elements from the PSone classic series, Medieval and the recent PSN indie darling The Unfinished Swan.
According to Killian, continued DLC support for Battle Royale goes hand-in-hand with continued support for the game proper, too.
“In addition to today’s launch of Zeus and Isaac, we’ve also done a new balance patch, which modifies every existing character in some way (and fixes some pesky glitches), as well as adding some new bells and whistles to familiar items,” Killian said.
If you happened to pick up God of War Ascension, then you’ll find a voucher for a free download of Isaac and Zeus packed in with the game. Otherwise, these bad boys will set you back $4.99 a pop. The Graveyard level will be free to all in ranked online matches, but you’ll need to fork over $1.99 if you want to be able to visit it offline.
