PlayStation Flash Sale Discounts 20+ Games To $1
Get ready to start filling up your hard drive on PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita, because Sony just pulled back the curtain on a weekend flash sale offering loads of PlayStation Network and PlayStation Classics for just a dollar apiece.
This is the kind of sale announcement that would usually work better in audio, complete with obnoxious sound effects and graphics stating that Sony “Must be insane to offer these low-low prices.” Also, similar to those types of special events, the countdown clock on these discounts runs out this Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
There’s usually a lot of talk about the annual gaming drought this time of year. I’ve been guilty of it myself these past few weeks, pointing out on a few occasions that, until August/September rolls around, there isn’t a whole lot of new content for players to sink their teeth into. One thing that helps offset these slumps are sales, and this weekend’s flash sale is a doozy. Well, that's assuming you still have cash left over after Valve rolled out their very own Steam Summer Sale, which seems to have worked one over on a lot of gamers quite a bit. But you know, if they don't get you with one deal they'll get you with the next.
Sony Network Entertainment Digital Distribution Manager Chieh Chen broke it down this afternoon on the PlayStation Blog.
“ We’ve got a serious Flash Sale for you over the next couple days, with more than 20 games available for just $0.99 each,” Chen said. “The Flash Sale starts right now, so head over to PlayStation Store and snap up some awesome games to play this summer.”
See what I’m saying? That announcement would have been a whole lot better with fireworks and monster trucks going crazy in the background while Chen screamed the announcement at a camera while struggling to get out of a straightjacket.
As stated above, this weekend’s flash sale is going on right now, but you might want to act fast on making your buying decisions, because these offers are only good through this coming Monday, July 14, at 12 p.m. Pacific. This is usually the time when I would make a comment along the lines of “prepare your wallet for a beating,” but you could pick up pretty much everything in this sale and drop less than 30 bucks total.
