Portal 2 Casting Reveals Potential Plot Spoilers
Details about Valve’s upcoming follow up to Portal have been making the rounds today. I’d just like to say that I don’t particularly hate spoilers. If a story/game/movie is good then it doesn’t matter if you already know Vader is Luke’s father. With that said, what follows could potentially spoil the game in a major way for you. You’ve been warned. But then again, now that this is out in the ether we can expect Valve to change it up in any case.
According to Kotaku they’ve received story details along with some scripted dialogue. It appears that the sequel could very well be a prequel with the antagonist being Aperture Science’s founder Cave Johnson. But rather than being dead for real he is dead and placed inside a computer. This would allow the game to follow along until he loses his humanity and you come up with a similar result from Portal. My main problem is how brilliant GlaDOS was the first time around and I’ll miss that character.
The dialogue passed on reads as follows: ”I been thinkin. Heck, suspended as I am in this inky purgatorium, I got nothin' to do but think. What if them engineers didn't do me no favors pourin' me into a computer? What if they denied me my final reward?"
