Puppeteer Gets Spooky With Halloween Ville Trailer
Yet another game has gotten in on the Halloween spirit, this time being the PlayStation 3’s upcoming platformer, Puppeteer. There’s actually a Halloween themed level within the game, which is being shown off in the latest “Hallowee Ville” trailer.
So far, Puppeteer looks like what you would get if Sony hired Tim Burton to create his own take on the LittleBigPlanet formula. Everything about the game looks adorable, gothic and fun, especially the latest bit of content shown off by the new Hallowee (Yes, I’m spelling that correctly) trailer. Halloween may have happened yesterday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy just a few more tricks and treats before moving on to the next holiday.
SCE Worldwide Studios Art Director Gavin Moore stated on the PlayStation Blog that Burton was, in fact, a huge inspiration for the upcoming game.
“In the same vein, Puppeteer is packed to the rafters with insane situations and creepy fun, all rapped around gameplay that will keep you coming back for more,” Moore said.
In the game, players take control of a rogue marionette who must escape the confines of Castle Gristlestein with little more than his wits, quick reflexes and a magical pair of scissors. So why is he going through all of this effort, you may ask. To retrieve his missing head, of course.
Look for Puppeteer to hit the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2013. Judging by how well things appear to be coming along in this latest trailer, here’s hoping it won’t be too far into the New Year before we finally get to play this whimsical romp.
