Ragnarok Online 2 Launches May 1st, Steam Version Available
Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second is gearing up for a May 1 launch, something that fans of the series and beta testers likely already knew. What you probably didn’t know, however, is that the free-to-play fantasy MMORPG will also be launching day and date on Steam.
Steam has been building its free-to-play portfolio over the past year or so, giving gamers the chance to enjoy their favorite online titles while still taking advantage of the Steam network of features like Achievements, forums, media sharing, friends lists, etc.
That being the case, would-be adventurers getting ready to dive into Ragnarok Online 2 should be ecstatic to know that the latest offering from WarpPortal will be launching through Valve’s digital gaming service at 3 p.m. PDT on May 1.
“We are excited to officially launch Ragnarok 2 simultaneously on Steam and the WarpPortal,” said Producer Jason Koerperich. “It is a perfect match, bringing a great community to a great game.”
Building on the foundation established by the original Ragnarok Online, Legend of the Second takes the bright and lighthearted MMO into the third dimension, offering a familiar world and monsters in a brand new adventure with loads of new systems to dive into.
Like in any good MMO, players will be able to form parties, make guilds, take part in PVP combat was well as battle hundreds of monsters spread across the map or within massive instances. There’s also loads of gear to loot or craft, as well as collectible monster cards to trade with friends or equip to your own character for a boost in battle.
For more information, visit the Ragnarok Online 2 official website. You’ll be able to download the game client directly from there on May 1 or, as mentioned above, grab it from Steam. If you’re having trouble waiting those last couple of days until launch, then maybe the mobile game, Ragnarok Online: Valkyrie Uprising, will help the time fly by.
