Capcom has just confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will receive new multiplayer modes as downloadable content after the game's launch. The multiplayer DLC was first revealed in a Trophy update yesterday but now we actually know the full gameplay details.
The Versus Mode DLC will add two new multiplayer game types to RE5 called Slayer and Survival. Slayer is "a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis," which probably means you're attempting to rack up more zombie kills than your opponent. In Survival matches, players are fighting each other. Both game types can be played 1v1 or 2v2.
This new content will be released on PSN and Xbox Live "a few weeks" after Resident Evil 5 is released. It will cost 400 ($5) Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $3.99 on PSN. Below are six screenshots from the Versus multiplayer.
