Console gamers may not have to wait long for their next Resident Evil game. The 3DS title Resident Evil Revelations has been rated for the Xbox 360 and PS3 by the Game Rating Board of South Korea.
Revelations was first released on the 3DS in January. Its story took place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and other BSAA agents work to stop a bioterrorist organization called Il Veltro. The game also featured a Raid mode in which players fought off waves of enemies.
RE: Revelations' campaign was sort of a throwback. It had more in common with the early survival horror RE games than the more recent, action-oriented entries. There really aren't many survival horror games on consoles nowadays so I think Revelations would get an enthusiastic greeting from PS3/360 gamers.
This is the first time we've reported on anything from the Game Ratings Board so I'm not sure what their track record is like. However, the ESRB and other ratings authorities are often a source of news about upcoming ports. They tend to release this information before the companies themselves have a chance to do so.
Capcom has yet to comment about the possibility of a Revelations port. Perhaps this leak will force them to make an announcement, though.
