Activision loves to ship a new Call of Duty to stores in early November every year. A new rumor suggests they'll be taking the same approach with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Multiple sources tell Eurogamer that MW3 will be released on November 8th. Eurogamer notes that COD: Black Ops was released on the November 9th, 2010 and Modern Warfare 2 was released on the 10th the year before. Why break from tradition?
Activision, for their part, haven't formally announced MW3 much less a release date. It's not even entirely clear who's making it. At first MW2 studio Infinity Ward was thought to be the sole developer on the project but a report earlier this year suggested Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are also assisting with the game.
Activision will be revealing their financial results for the first three months of 2011 today so perhaps they'll make some mention of MW3. You probably shouldn't expect much, though.
