Sanctum 2 Now Available

The new first-person tower-defense strategy game from Coffee Stain Studios has officially launched for Xbox 360 and PC today via digital distribution. The game has such a vibrant and unique art-style coupled with some very original gameplay. It's one of the few games that actually stands out, not so much for its high-end visual fidelity like Metro: Last light or Battlefield 4, but mostly for its very original aesthetic and somewhat laboratory-esque character and structural designs.
Anton Westberg, CEO of Coffee Stain Studios commented about the release of the game, noting...
“We built Sanctum 2 from the ground up, creating stunning visuals while keeping everything that players loved from the original,” ... “We then added more characters, more enemies, more bosses, more levels, more weapons and more towers to make Sanctum 2 bigger, better and badder than we ever imagined.”
The first Sanctum was somewhat of a surprise hit, bringing gamers a very different kind of combative and strategic experience that revolved around fending off your core generator from hordes of different kinds of aliens.
Much like the first game, players will be able to drop all sorts of gadgets and gizmos to help out, including devices that provide AOE stun effects, single but powerful explosive shots, as well as defensive walls to keep the aliens out. The game reminded me a lot of a defensive version of many other typical MOBAs out there...then again, that's kind of what most tower-defense games are like anyway.
You can pick up the single or multiplayer title right now for $14.99 on PC or 1200 MS Points on Xbox Live. Need more info? Feel free to visit the official Coffee Stain Studios website.
