The Simpsons: Tapped Out Brings The Treehouse Of Horror To iOS

The Simpsons: Tapped Out expanded this week with a new spooky update that allows players to turn the beloved town of Springfield into a Halloween-themed homage to the long-running “Treehouse of Horror” episodes. Even cooler, the update actually integrates with Treehouse of Horror XXIII, which airs tonight on Fox.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out allows players to recreate Springfield to their liking while watching the residents interact, balancing resources and taking part in minigames. EA this week revealed the latest update for the free title, which gives players access to a bunch of new content centering on the 20-plus-year-old series' iconic Halloween episodes.

Tapped Out can be downloaded from iTunes and,if you're new to the game, the new content will already be included. All previous players need simply update the game to have access to the Treehouse of Horrors content.

Included in the update are new characters that let you make a “diddily deal” with Devil Flanders, ride a broom with Marge the Witch, or enslave earthlings with Kang. New buildings will also be available for your personal Springfield, including the Springfield Cemetary, the Heck House and the House of Evil. You can also build a giant space laser, collect mysterious artifacts and take on a new minigame that has you squishing zombies in the graveyard.

As for tonight's episode of Treehouse of Horror XXIII, you'll definitely want to tune in if you plan on playing this latest Tapped Out update. Those artifacts we were just talking about grant access to trivia questions that relate directly to the new episode. Watch The Simpsons tonight to find your answers, plug them into the game, then collect your rewards.
