To celebrate the release of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Creation Kit, Valve created their own mod for the role-playing game. Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1 is now free to download through Steam.
Remember that little A.I. core from Portal 2 that was obsessed with space? Well, he's your new companion as you journey through Tamriel. It's not clear what skills, if any, he possesses. He does come with one impressive ability, though: Nolan North's voice.
"Also, since Skyrim was the only major release of 2011 without Nolan North in it, you should consider this mod a patch to fix that problem," says Valve. "You can now feel free to include Skyrim in the 'Nolan North' section of your video game library, which is to say, your video game library."
The Skyrim Creation Kit allows PC owners to create their own content for Skyrim. They can then share these mods through the newly-launched Skyrim Workshop. Both are free and can be accessed through Steam.
If you want your new space core companion to look slightly shinier, you should consider downloading the high-resolution texture pack. It provides enhanced new visuals for those of you with top-of-the-line computers that scoff at Skyrim's recommended requirements.
