Last night Spike TV hosted their annual Video Game Awards. The night was big for downloadable games, with The Walking Dead and Journey scoring surprise wins in major categories.
Walking Dead, an episodic adventure series, was named Game of the Year as well as Best Adapted Game and Best Downloadable Game. Melissa Hutchison won Best Performance for her role as Clementine. Developer Telltale Games was named the Studio of the Year.
thatgamecompany's Journey, meanwhile, managed to beat out games like Borderlands 2 and Dishonored for the Best PS3 Game. It was the only PS3 exclusive nominated, which probably worked in its favor. The platforming adventure also took home awards for Best Independent Game and Best Original Score.
The full winners list is below. If you're more interested in the trailers that aired during the show, stay tuned because we'll be posting those throughout the day.
